More about the Judge...
Judge Appler is a dedicated Town Justice and Law Enforcement Veteran with extensive knowledge of local and state, criminal/civil laws and procedures. He has a strong reputation of fairness, honesty and accountability. Retired, with honors after 25 years in law enforcement, he continues to serve in other capacities of emergency management in his day job.
 
Currently seated as the Town of Whitestown Town Justice since 2010, he presides over Criminal and Civil cases. He Interprets the Laws and makes his judgements based on Law/Case law, then imposes penalties or rulings as the case may be. He  continues to  preside over  jury trials and bench trials as they occur.  Judge Appler was Justice in both the Village of Whitesboro and the Village of Oriskany.
  
He is currently the President of the Oneida County Magistrates Association and has served in this position in 2016, 2017, 2020, and now in 2021. During the 2016-2017 term, Judge Appler was instrumental in facilitating  the pilot program for  the Oneida County Centralized Arraignment Court (CAP Court). This program was the first in the State of New York, with the intent of consistent and proper representation for all parties, in every circumstance upon arraignment.
More Personally...
Dan is a native of Whitestown and the youngest of 10 children. He is a graduate of Notre Dame High School and the Police Academy at Mohawk Valley Community College with an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, and then a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.
He married his wife Robyn in 1995 and they have two children ages 20 and 14. His passion is his family. He loves traveling, camping and spontaneous adventure with friends and family.
